8K a year 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago Essential Job Functions Recognize errors and alerts in Command Center and ensures the resolution Train linemen and upper-level meter technicians on metering applications and theory Act as a subject matter expert to advise field operators and office personnel Troubleshoot communication issues with Tech Studio (or equivalent software) Identify trouble codes in Command Center and work to resolve them Reset and troubleshoot meters stuck in incorrect status groups Navigates OSHA standards, APPA, NESC, and TCEC rules, regulations, and safety procedures and understands how they apply to the job Performs all metering installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting Has general understanding of NFPA70E and how it applies to the utility Performs work activities as assigned and coached by higher-level employees Performs scheduled EPS testing for ERCOT Installs and maintains metering equipment in substations Available to work after hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required Problem Solving and Initiative Looks for opportunities to learn the workflow, while keeping in mind the safety of other employees and the public Uses initiative in looking to increase job knowledge and technical skills Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously Develops decision-making skills based on sound judgement and job knowledge Communication Skills & Interpersonal Skills Able to effectively communicate with the general public and maintain good member-owner relations Listens to and understands instructions and requests clarification as needed Able to interpret information and communicate instructions clearly and precisely Able to work with others, both supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary Maintains accurate records Contributes to team goals Safety Studies and follows TCEC safety rules and procedures Attentive to safety - watches peers' backs, professional training on safety, etc.
Position Requirements Must complete all requirements for Meter Technician IV and pass progression tests Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests, physical, and background check Must possess basic computer literacy, knowledge, and skills Must possess a valid state driver's license (CDL - Class A preferred) Relationships Reports to Manager of Meters and Fiber Infrastructure Physical Demands (Scale:
Rarely = Less than 5%, Occasionally = 5% - 25%, Frequently = More than 25%) Heavy lifting or moving of materials:
