The candidate will assist management in supervising the front desk process and procedures as it relates to checking in patients and checking out patients.
The candidate for this position should be able to multi-task and be a team player.
Responsibilities Great patients as they arrive and leave the office.
Collect Co-insurance, deductibles/Co-pays and past due balances.
Has a understanding of practice management system so they can accurately discuss a bill with a patient.
Understanding of batch process, daily reconciliations, and creation of deposit slips for each practice.
Process Credit card payments and credits via office protocol.
Accurately make appointments and maintain schedules for providers.
Answers multiple phone lines take detailed messages for other staff members sending messages to the appropriate staff member to respond.
Scans and indexes medical documents into (EMR) software and sends documents to the appropriate staff personnel for review/approval.
Provides general administrative support including faxing, copying, scanning, and typing for physicians and other office personnel as needed.
Adheres to all HIPAA, security, and confidentiality requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Ability to deliver superior customer service to all potential patients.
Strong customer service skills and exceptional phone presence is a must.
2 years of experience working as a receptionist in a medical office doing daily batches, daily reconciliations and collecting money.
Strong computer and data entry skills are required.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Sheets is preferred.
Excellent written, verbal, and follow up skills required.
Ability to interact with potential patients, clinic staff, physicians, and other management staff in a professional manner.
Must be able to multi-task with high degree of attention to detail and bring tasks to completion.
Must maintain professional appearance and demeanor and interface well with patients and staff.
Must respect and adhere to office guidelines/policies and use good judgement when making decisions for patient and practices best interest.
Must be punctual, reliable, and flexible.
